Microsoft Word is great text processing software but sometimes problems occur while doing simple everyday tasks, keeping users puzzled what went wrong and how to correct it. My latest troubleshooting session began when I noticed that outputting a Word (docx) file into a PDF using the PDFMaker plugin for Word, this plugin comes with Acrobat Pro X, would not output all of the images included in the original document. I love Windows 10, its features, speed, ease of use, simplicity, stability, versatility, etc. But sometimes there are some issues, some problems that could literally make you go mad, like the erratic mouse movement.
For me one of those issues was the erratic mouse movement and lags with high processor activity -- around 100%. In these cases the cursor started jumping up and down, left and right, and I simply had to wait for this to be over. Try doing serious mouse-related work on such a computer. [node:read-more:link]
After reviewing Google's Security Settings, Mozilla Thunderbird could no longer connect to Google's servers and retrieve any e-mails. It said that I use several less secure apps, and therefore access to gmail servers has suddenly been blocked. Nice!
I mean it's so nice to see how Google keeps working on security, but usually that also means, that one has to adjust app settings in e-mail clients to be able to get to the e-mails, stored in gmail. [node:read-more:link]
Recently I've stumbled upon a problem of double line breaks while saving content using the CKEditor module.
Cause of Double Line Breaks
There's a setting in admin/config/content/formats/full_html (or the other relevant text type that you use, where the double line breaks appear), that causes the double line breaks to appear when you save content, even if text format is not 'paragraph'. [node:read-more:link]
Today I ran into problems with Suitcase Fusion 6 font manager, an error message kept popping up: "Suitcase Fusion Client encountered an unexpeted error. kDatabaseError".
After a bit of googling it turns out that this error is caused by the Google Drive app for Windows 10. [node:read-more:link]
If you attempt opening an Illustrator CC EPS file in Illustrator CS6 you get an error message that this file was created using a newer version of Illustrator.
So what can one do to open such a file?
Open the EPS file using the Acrobat X and save it to the PDF format.
Then open this PDF file using Adobe Illustrator CS6, and, voila, this is it. [node:read-more:link]
Lately I've been running out of free space on one partition, a large one actually, with total space of 800 gigabytes, but my files taking up only approximately 250 gigabytes and the free space was downsizing day by day until it reached 51 gigabytes.
Local Microsoft support wasn't of much help, blaming other software for taking up the space, again...
Did a bit of research and found [node:read-more:link]
On April 18th 2016 I noticed that all the sites using Google Fonts display them in the standard Arial/Times New Roman combination instead of those that I've chosen to import from Google Fonts using the @font-face direction.
It turns out that the problem with Google Fonts not showing in Firefox is because I also have NoScript add-on installed, that blocks these fonts even after going to settings and disabling of blocking of font-face command. [node:read-more:link]
